History: Strength Martial Arts started in 1989 teaching Shorin Ryu from the Okinawan Style of Martial Arts and grew rapidly until today with it's 50+ students

Other Information: Karate means "empty hand" and was developed hundreds of years ago in Okinawa as a means of unarmed self-defense. Okinawan Karate developed its own unique style of fighting while absorbing aspects of the Chinese martial arts.

Classes: 5-7 Year Olds: This class is specially designed for our youngest of student. The focus of this class is on the development of motor skills balance and discipline. Students learn the basics of karate forms, self-defense, and the Japanese language through methods of positive modivation to create a fun atmosphere.

8-12 Year Olds: Students learn basic techniques, forms, and self-defense in a structured program. Discipline, responsibility and muscle control are emphasized in this class. Along with their karate training, the importance of a good education is stressed, and students are required to maintain a satisfactory level of performance in school.

13+ Ages: Students learn basic techniques, forms, and self-defense in a structured program. Benefits of the program include developing self-control, relieving stress, and physical fitness. Learn to protect yourself, your family, and your loved ones.

Weaponry: Kobujutsu (ancient weapon art) developed as an art of self-defense during periods in Okinawan History. Some of these weapons, such as the sai, bo, nunchaku, tuifa, and kama, will be taught to students who wish to further their knowledge of these ancient weapons.
